What is Post-Pickup?

Post-Pickup is the option of having your belongings picked up AFTER you checkout of your residence hall and return home. Campus Carriers will work with Residence Life to access rooms and retrieve student belongings after checkout. This means that you will NOT have to wait on Campus Carriers staff to get your belongings picked up but instead you will prepare your items for pick up at your leisure and AFTER you checkout of your residence hall, Campus Carriers staff will enter your old room to get your items.

Those that take advantage of Post-Pickup will NOT need to be present for a specific Pick Up Date and Time and will simply need to follow the necessary steps and preparation instructions for Post-Pickup prior to checking out of their residence hall.

How do you participate in the Post-Pickup option?

New customers: Reserve your space and choose the Post Pick-Up option when asked. Everyone that chooses to participate in Post-Pickup will be required to follow specific instructions detailed below when preparing their belongings for Post-Pickup.

Any questions regarding this service should be directed to our Customer Support Team by Contacting Us.

Post-Pickup Instructions

FIRST, it is important to understand that Post-Pickup Preparation Instructions are IN ADDITION to the standard Packing Tips and Instructions.

SECOND, failure to follow every detail of these instructions may risk your belongings not being picked up. To avoid issues, make certain to review the following instructions in detail.

Constructing Your Boxes

Information regarding the proper construction is covered in detail in Packing Tips and Instructions. However, this step is very important. Boxes that aren’t constructed properly do not securely hold items, can fall apart etc. Make sure to follow all of the necessary details when constructing your boxes.

Remember, any corrugated box used for your reservation MUST be a Campus Carriers box. Third-party corrugated cardboard boxes for general packing that are not specific containers for the items in the Campus Carriers Oversized Item list and Reservation Process are not permitted.

Please remain mindful of the box (and other container) weight limit. Boxes and other vessels for storage such as plastic bins, trunks, suitcases, etc. must not exceed 50 lbs. Plastic drawers must not exceed 25 lbs. More information can be found in the Packing Tips and Instructions.

Labeling Your Items

Boxes - All boxes must have the STUDENT'S FIRST AND LAST NAME and ORDER ID for the reservation written on the outside of the box. You can find your Order ID in previous e-mails as well as by logging into your account at CampusCarriers.com/my-account. During Post-Pickup, Campus Carriers staff will affix additional larger labels upon pick up of your items.

Other Items - Labels (SEE BELOW) will need to be affixed to every item being picked up during Post-Pickup and getting stored with Campus Carriers. Each label must have the STUDENT'S FIRST AND LAST NAME and ORDER ID for the reservation written clearly on it. You can obtain your Order ID from previous e-mails as well as by logging into your account at CampusCarriers.com/my-account. Please place a label on each item in a place where Campus Carriers staff will easily see and can clearly read them. During Post-Pickup, Campus Carriers staff will affix additional larger labels with additional information but the smaller labels MUST be added by you and must indicate the STUDENT'S FIRST AND LAST NAME and ORDER ID on them.

Getting Labels

There are TWO methods for labeling each of your items with the STUDENT'S FIRST AND LAST NAME and ORDER ID. You are welcome to use any of the following methods:

1. Envelope labels or Masking tape - You can obtain envelope labels or masking tape from many local or online retailers. Make sure they are of good quality and that you don’t have issues with sticking it to your belongings. Write the STUDENT'S FIRST AND LAST NAME and ORDER ID and affix to each of your items.

2. A small piece of paper and clear packing tape - Cut a small piece of paper, write the STUDENT'S FIRST AND LAST NAME and ORDER ID on it, place a small piece of tape over the top of the paper affixing it to the item. Make sure it is secure and won’t easily come off.

ALL Items MUST Be On Your Reservation PRIOR to Post-Pickup

There can be NO LAST MINUTE additions of items for your storage reservation. That said, ALL items that Campus Carriers staff pick up for your reservation MUST be added and paid for on your reservation prior to June 2, 2023 at 5pm. If you have items that you’d like to add to your reservation you must do so by logging into your account at CampusCarriers.com/my-account to add your items and it must be done prior to June 2, 2023 at 5pm. Campus Carriers shall be held harmless for any loss of items that are not on your reservation and paid for prior to the June 2, 2023 at 5pm deadline.

Removal of Items From Your Reservation

If there is an item currently on your reservation for storage that you no longer need Campus Carriers to pick up and store, you MUST Contact Us to notify us of this change and have it removed from your reservation. This is very important. Failure to do this will keep Campus Carriers staff in search of an item for storage that you have decided not to include. If you will no longer be storing a particular item with us, it must be removed from your reservation prior to June 2, 2023 at 5pm. --- Contact Us to remove an item from your reservation.

Everything MUST Be Kept Neat Prior to Checkout

It is extremely important that you understand that all other SCAD Housing checkout procedures must be followed. Your residence hall must be neat, cleaned, etc. The ONLY things left in your room should be the specific items being picked up by Campus Carriers and must be all items that are on your reservation and paid for.

Campus Carriers has made the necessary arrangements to allow you to keep your items being stored for the summer in your room after checkout but this DOES NOT alleviate you of your responsibility to have all other necessary checkout procedures complete.

All items being picked up by Campus Carriers should be together in one area of your room. Items must not be scattered all around the residence hall rooms. Have all of your items stacked and labeled with the STUDENT'S FIRST AND LAST NAME and ORDER ID neatly and in one area. This is very important to keep things organized and not risk Campus Carriers staff from missing items being picked up, etc.

Absolutely No Trash Or Other Items Left Behind

It is imperative that no trash is left behind in your residence hall room. As mentioned, all other checkout procedures need to be followed and this is your responsibility in order to avoid fines or other penalties by SCAD Housing. The only items permitted to be left behind in your room should be exactly the items that are on your Campus Carriers reservation being picked up and stored. Once Campus Carriers staff has picked up your items from your reservation there should be NOTHING left in your room that shouldn’t be there. Make certain that all trash and any items not on your reservation are removed prior to your checkout.

Confirm Your Room Number, Residence Hall, and Contact Information

Make absolutely certain that the residence hall room number and residence hall are accurate on your Campus Carriers reservation. Failure to provide accurate room number and residence hall information means that Campus Carriers staff will be unable to locate your items. Additionally, Post-Pickup MUST occur from the room you were contracted to live in with SCAD Housing. NO EXCEPTIONS.
